PIERCING INFORMATION

Unisex Piercings

EARS
Of all piercings, those for the ears are the most widespread and socially acceptable.

NOSTRILS
Nostril piercings have been common in numerous diverse cultures. In recent years, many modern men and women have adopted the fashion. Two basic types of jewelry are used for this piercing: rings and studs. Placement and technique is crucial, as is proper jewelry. Never allow piercing of the nose with a piercing gun, and never install an earring stud into a nose piercing.

SEPTUM
Septum piercing has been and continues to be prevalent in many cultures throughout the world. Some African and Indonesian tribes have this type of piercing, as well as the Cuna Indians of Panama. Most piercing enthusiasts are able to survive in an unsympathetic world only because their piercings are not visible to the majority of people. For this reason, an obvious piercing such as that of the septum would be impossible. We carry septum retainers in either 14 or 12 gauge niobium. With our septum retainer, it is possible to have this piercing without anyone knowing that you have it, except maybe your doctor or dentist.

EYEBROW
This has become one of the more common piercings today. Rings of 20, 18, or 16 gauge are used for this piercing. Normally, these rings are specially placed to give the appearance of wrapping around the eyebrow.

LIP
Piercing of the lip and cheek have become commonplace in many cultures around the world. Piercing can be placed anywhere along the length of the two lips.

TONGUE
This piercing can be done at various spots along the center of the tongue. It heals very quickly and is one of the most painless piercings. Barbell studs should be used for the initial piercing. The jewelry must be exactly the right size, so proper measurement is crucial. The stud should be at least
1/4" to 5/16" larger when the tongue is at its thickest. It's recommended that you eat only soft foods during the healing process.

LABRET
This piercing is done through the middle of the lower lip.

NAVEL
Navel piercing was a sign of royalty to the ancient Egyptians. Usually the ridge of skin directly above the navel is pierced. This is a particularly difficult piercing to heal and retain. It requires a great deal of dedication as it can easily become irritated by belts, waistbands, and even sitting or bending. If you're not willing to give up wearing tight jeans for the duration of the healing period, this piercing should not be done. Rings or studs are available for this piercing.

NIPPLES
Piercing of the nipples has become increasingly popular in recent years. Aside from the ear, this has become the most common body part to be pierced. It was in vogue in France during the reign of Louis XIV, and in England during the reign of Queen Victoria. Nipples are usually pierced horizontally, but they can be pierced vertically or even diagonally. Care in placement is very important. Females nipples should he measured while standing or sitting. Any type of ring can be worn in this piercing, however, barbells should not be worn until piercing has fully healed. Aftercare is extremely important.

Female Piercing

LABIA MINORA & LABIA MAJORA
Historically speaking, labia piercings are the female equivalent of foreskin piercings, and were the means of assuring female chastity. This form of piercing was and is practiced in many countries- Ethiopia, Rome, India and Persia to name a few. For many modem women, labia piercings are done to enhance erotic feelings, not to restrict intercourse.

CLITORAL HOOD
This piercing is extremely popular because the jewelry constantly excites the clitoris and enhances stimulation during intercourse.

CLITORIS
This piercing is rapidly growing in popularity because of the increased sensation it affords its wearer. One of the rarest of all piercings, it is generally the province of the most dedicated of
piercing enthusiasts.

Male Piercings

GUICHE
Even today, the guiche is common among the male natives of the South Pacific, particularly Tahiti. This is a horizontal piercing located between the scrotum and the anus, usually where the inseam would be in a pair of pants. It is one of the most difficult piercings to make and live with. This is not recommended for those who are required to sit for long periods of time. Individuals who have adopted this type of piercing generally wear some type of metal ring, to which some type of weight is frequently attached and worn.

HAFADA or SCROTUM
This piercing is practiced among certain Arab tribes of North Africa. It is placed down the left side of the scrotum as part of the rite of passage, when a boy becomes a man. Usually these piercings are worn in multiples, such as one on each side of the scrotum, or several down the central "seam".

PRINCE ALBERT
Named for Queen Victoria consort, Prince Albert, who allegedly had one, this is considered by many men to be the most sensual of all penis piercings. This is said to enhance sexual stimulation for both partners. The piercing is made through

FRENUM
The second most popular piercing of the penis is that of the frenum, which is the loose web of skin between the fore-skin and the head of the penis. Rings are generally worn, although the preferable choice of jewelry is something which encircles the head of the penis during erection, acting much like a cock ring. The procedure and healing time are rapid.

DYDOES
These piercings are generally done by Jewish men who wish to regain some of the sensation which they feel has been lost due to circumcision. Dydoe piercings are normally done in pairs, one stud through the glans on either side of the penis head. Barbell studs may be worn, but they should have small heads since the pressure from standard large head barbells could pull the piercing to the surface. This piercing is only appropriate for the man who is circumcised.
